John. We are using the full flank tag system...Both tight and non-tightend flanks at the varsity level.
What have you run at the lower levels using this system? My thoughts were to mirror the formation. Either double tight or double split and teach them the flanks. Have you had success with freshmen qbs identifying the flanks, or do you tag the play in the huddle for the players? I'm leaning toward going double tight (more kids learning how to drive block and be physical) and tagging the plays in the huddle.

Mixed at lower levels but my thoughts are they are they for teaching - winning is a bonus!
We usually run 1 triple package and simply recognition and rules
i.e. we combine Army and Navy - as a three outside / #3 inside concept We will live with a loop or a veer scheme vs a 50 on that level and gameplan it if we want change
to tightend oit's a lil harder asyou get so much garbage
so to tightend we are predetermined down / d option / zone option and just count 1 or 2 outside
it starts the qb looking and they get use to hearing tags
also we will run zone option to se side (baseed on #3 for arc or load) plus zone dive and ctr iso
thats usually enough with the rocket
as for limiting flanks i would use 2 wr and not 2 te. triple is a much easier play to a wide receiver and the looks are more consistent
