Has anyone had any success with both halfbacks splitting the difference between the WR and tackle when running under center option? The motion would have to be longer and the defense would definitely be able to jump on it sooner, but I do believe it could be controlled with a quick passing game, counters, and or boots. My reasoning for doing this...Helps passing game in a myriad of ways and it also breaks up some stacks when running the option. Thanks...Hope everyone's offseason is going well.

We do split the half at times. It sorts the perimeter and controls coverage when we want. The problem is not the motion (you can still twirl him from there. You must have an option built into your package where you pitch off the five. Hb can't seal from out there. I.e. midline triple. Or a double that adds a blocker to seal vs the five and blockers both the 5 and inside lber. Belly option is one ( hb would block free qb would be running all day. Additionally we always package this with our bubble package. If ss doesn't go past half way throw the bubble and get two on 1. Wr blocks corner.
