How do you handle a great nose when there are 4is. I know that if they were 4s or 5s you could use a TE flank to double the nose. But with the 4i in the b gap how do you handle him.

A great Nose! Hopefully, your teaching your center to scramble block in the option game. Remember, the option is old time football! Its shoulder blocking, not "hat and hands". A great nose is trained to handle "hat and hands" blockers, they don't like to be cut.
Running the Triple-we never allowed a 4I to attack the FB in the Option! In most cases your getting a 4I in a 50 Defense, we zone blocked! If the 4I was in a 60 Defense we Base Blocked. We never read a 4I, they are to disruptive for a QB and FB Mesh. We read the next man outside the 4I's!

usually block 4i become doube option, zone dive FB reads 4i, OV block 4i soft shoulder cut scrape LBer, Run midline - let nose pick side FB cuts off him, SALLY (old wing-t play we run - reads nose cuts opposite
