Coach I great site and great forum...Midline is our bread and butter, we have always run Midline as a Double option but we plan on installing Mid Triple or Midline (Navy) this season as well. What are the best defenses to run this against? What are thoughts on this play?

Best vs a split 43/44 but we also run vs okie and a 0 tech nose (pretty much a give every time unless 4 tech is screaming)

Coach I great site and great forum...Midline is our bread and butter, we have always run Midline as a Double option but we plan on installing Mid Triple or Midline (Navy) this season as well. What are the best defenses to run this against? What are thoughts on this play? I like mid triple against most fronts when I want to ensure my slots are potential ball carriers and when we are having issues blocking the play side defensive end. If you can't block him...read him. I also like mid triple because the midline mesh keeps backers from flowing play side immediately. It also pulls the defensive front inside as the DT goes to fullback and DE goes to QB. The LB's will usually take an extra step toward fullback, especially if you have been dealing them a lot of double read midline. So when midline triple is called the defense collapses inside and you get a quick pull and a quick pitch. This will often result in wide running lanes on the perimeter. Midline triple is also often an easier read for the QB and is sometimes more effective to the boundary when compared to veer. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using proboards

Great site, glad to see it!!
I finally committed to running mid-triple this past season and glad I did-best averaging play this past season, i probably didn't run it enough.
Good vs. all looks; The 4-3 hip/6-1 look makes me nervous because of being out-numbered but many times it works anyway due to how those edge defenders are playing.
Great play!!
