Coach I, Have you ever run the Iso or Blast option. I saw it while watching an old Ohio St. vs Mich game. OSU was in an I-wing formation. They meshed w/ the I-back, reached the DE w/ the TE, pulled it and ran dbl option w/ the Qb and the WB, aligned opposite the TE. FB Iso blocked PSILB. I was at the Nike clinic in NJ, and had a discussion about it w/ Lou Vircillo the coach who puts on the clinic, and he gave me some different ideas on how to block it if I wanted to run it as a triple.
New to the site, found you through coachHuey's site and since this is more option oriented I wanted to see what you thought of the play. Thanks

Funny thing is my first year as a head coach we were an I team (over thirty years ago) and made a living with the ISO option. It's been a long time but still a solid play I guess. But you couldn't run it vs all looks. Because you were out leveraged on the flank
As far as a triple I've never run it that way because of the qb reversing and then everything in his face and he has to sort it all out. I want everything I do to be as qb friendly as possible

Great to hear that you used to run it. Could you go into the blocking scheme for me? What looks told you not to call it, defensively? Thanks

We did not like it with 2 people outside the te or wide 9
