Vs. an Ace or 50 front..Who decides the corner is support or #3? Do you guys like reading this as the wing and wr release. I am not a huge fan of this idea. I would rather someone make a call so that my players can be aggressive regardless. Do you let the WR make this call or QB? What are the criteria for the corner being deemed the support player (Within a certain distance from LOS, Angle of defender, etc.) What signalling systems have you guys found to be most effective in this?
Also, how do you identify down linemen. At what point does a 3 tech become a 4i and vice versa? Do you have the guard make a call that delineates between a 4i and 3?

Our wide receiver calls out support structure - he actually calls out the coverage as it aligns. 3 is 3 but any two high coverage must be read. If we are having a major problem we will change the formation to dictate coverage or calls tracks and treat it as level reagerdless - we don't like doing this. If safety is high enough we might by gameplan always treat as corner because he is crackable even if he came down. we prefer to read it though - not that hard if you practice.
if he's on any part of tackle he's a 4i. It is more important that they verbally communicate though because even if they call it wrong but are on same page you have a chance. talk talk talk
