Coach, I have enjoyed reading the blogs and articles on the site. First year with the triple, went pretty good, Can you tell me what you would do with a 50 that is crashing #1, #2 (DE) is disciplined on putting our QB on his back, and the Safety flies through the alley for pitch. Formations, tags, anything would be great.

Coach, I am not Coach Iannucci but I do check this site daily. Here are my two suggestions : 1) PSLOT block #2 to avoid the "Hot 1-2". Read #1, block #2 and pitch off Corner. PSWR crack on the Safety who fills the alley.
2) Go to a "Double Option". FB block #1, Pitch Key is #2, PSWR crack on Safety, and PSLOT arc to the corner.
Hope this gets the thread started, Denny Dierick

If you practice it enough and properly - your qb should not get hit. He should be stepping backwards off the mesh when he sees back to back (presnap combined with spatial focus)
That being said - you are dealing with 17 year old humans so here are my suggested
1. run the rocket - you should have slot tackle and guard all climbing to the second level.
2. double option - aka what coach dierick says
3. load #2 - we do it differtly then Dierick but same idea load te on #2 seal with hb
or
load tackle on #2 load on backer with hb (tackle goes 1st (we don't like our hb's blocking people on line just my preference - nothing wrong with it.)
cut splits to 1 1/2 yards - run outside veer - base inside - wide seal hb - read #2 - fb makes soft shoulder cut on lber scraping over the top. usually a give because of taught option responsibilities.
run to a te - te seals hb arcs - olb further from qb
run midline triple - mesh is further away from back to back makes it easier
it depends on what you do good and who's hands you want the ball in.

Thanks to both of you for the feedback. also, vs. this "back to back 50" would you ace the nose and veer in the tackle. Coach Ianucci, when you refer to looping the tackle is that veering out to PSLB.
